Have a fundraiser for the Turtles at your school, youth group, scout group, club, or workplace. Check out how Garfield Elementary Community Service Project earned money for the Turtles.

Huge Thanks to Toni at Garfield Elementary

Garfield's community service project earns $508.60 for the Turtles

Garfield School helped support Turtle Talk by collecting money donations from students and families.  Students that donate $1 (or more) to Turtle Talk Rescue were given a tiny toy turtle to adopt. These “toy pets" helped encourage kids to learn about being a responsible pet owner as they explored the world of turtles in their school library!  Each toy turtle was numbered and came with its own adoption papers.  Soon the Adoption Wall was filled with names of their new “toy turtle pets”.

Would you like to do a “Toy Turtle” fundraiser at your school, youth group, scout group, club, or workplace?     Here is what you need:

1.    Make a Poster about Turtle Talk Rescue – Make sure it says:  Anyone that donates $1 (or more) to Turtle Talk Rescue is given a toy turtle pencil topper to adopt.

2.    Small toy turtles from www.turtlemax.com or any other website or store you may find.  Be sure to number the plastic toy turtles on their plastron (belly) with a sharpie for identification.

3.    Adoption Paperwork – should have Adopters Name – Turtles number and Turtles new name.  Display a copy of the paperwork on an Adoption Wall for everyone to see.

4.    Encourage kids to learn about their turtle and its habitat at their local library.

5.  It's your fundraiser, so tweak it to fit you and your group.  Make it fun and educational.

6.    If you plan to do a fundraiser, let us know at: turtletalkrescue@msn.com

7.    If you need help getting your toy turtle, please contact us.

Thanks for all your help!
